I currently offer in-person sessions from a private space within the Park Estate in Nottingham city centre. I also offer online sessions as alternative option.
I am a fully trained UKCP accredited BACP registered MSc Integrative Psychotherapist. I am also qualified to work online after completing a UKCP approved Covid-19 Online Working Guidance course. Additionally, I have an MSc in Psychology and I am a graduate member of the British Psychological Society (BPS). I also work in other well-being and counselling roles and abide by the UKCP and BACP professional code of Ethics and Practice.
Each person is unique, and each relationship is individual therefore I integrate a range of theoretical and philosophical approaches to attend to the individual needs of each client. This can facilitate a sense of wholeness as we explore and integrate our experience.
My Nottingham practice has on street parking and is easily accessible via public transport. The room is well ventilated and large enough for socially distanced working. Overlooking the Park area of Nottingham, it has a light and calm quality to it and is situated on the ground floor.
Each session will last 50 minutes in total. It is recommended that we start with weekly sessions as this is beneficial for building a secure working relationship. The number of sessions needed will vary from person to person. Everyone is different and some people need longer than others. This is something that is reviewed as we progress and what is needed emerges.
As this is a mutual process, we regularly review our contract together as the work unfolds. I have experience of long, mid-term and short-term work, although typically I work mostly with longer term contracts. You are free to end at any stage and we can negotiate an ending period depending on the length of time we have been working together.
If you are interested in meeting me for an initial consultation, please contact me via phone or email. Alternatively, to find out more visit my website - opengatewaytherapy.uk
I am interested in working with clients from a variety of diverse backgrounds and experiences. I believe through the therapeutic relationship we can develop an understanding and self- awareness to encourage personal and relational change.
Working with developmental and relational trauma is an area of interest for me especially in relation to the immune system. This focuses on the neurological nature of trauma and the client as a whole system - body, mind and soul.
After contacting me via phone or email I will invite you for an initial meeting online. This initial meeting will cost you £25. This provides the opportunity for you to share with me your current situation and ask any questions about how I work.
This is also a chance for me to decide if I am able to offer what you are looking for. If after this meeting, we are both happy to continue towards working together we can arrange our first session.
Alternatively, you may wish to take time to think about how you feel. You are under no obligation to continue.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
