Core Process has been developed as a blend of Buddhist and Western psychology. It is the original Mindfulness based approach to psychotherapy in the U.K. and involves an exploration of our present experience. By paying attention to ourselves in the present moment we may become more aware of our feelings, sensations, thoughts and attitudes. With increased awareness we can discover our past conditioning, the impact this has had on our lives, and the limitations we place upon ourselves. Together we will explore how this is for you, and we can look at the deeper reasons behind your concerns and difficulties.
I am psychotherapist based in Glasgow with over 5 years experience of working in various settings and with a broad range of people of different genders, ages and backgrounds. I have supported people with many different issues including: relationship problems, bereavement, post-traumatic stress, anxiety, depression, anger, life-direction, and spiritual crisis. I pay attention to what is happening in the present moment and support my clients to do the same as it is in the now that we have the potential to change.
I believe that much of our wounding happens in relationship and therefore our healing must happen in relationship also. Too often we are not met with the acceptance, compassion and understanding we require at the deepest levels of ourselves and the challenges we meet in life can seem overwhelming and unchangeable. I have come to trust that even the toughest mental and emotional distress can, with the right support, be a transformative and even rewarding experience.
