I am a Masters qualified integrative psychotherapist, and I approach psychotherapy through a relational/developmental lens. Being integrative means examining the parts of ourselves as human beings, that we have either disavowed or rejected; with a view to integrate them back into our being.
When I speak of relational psychotherapy, I mean the relationship between myself the therapist and you the client. When I speak of a developmental approach, this refers to childhood and the impact this has in the here and now.
My approach to psychotherapy incorporates a myriad of different theoretical approaches, including Object Relations, Gestalt, Transactional Analysis and self psychology. I have extensive experience in working with various different traumas, and believe all of the aforementioned is achieved most healthily within the constraints of a safe, empathic and attuned environment.
Having trained as an addictions counsellor prior to embarking on psychotherapy training, I have been blessed to work in various different settings, meaning I have honed my skills and pride myself on being accepting of whatever may present itself in the therapy room.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
