My Approach

As an integrative systemic and family psychotherapist, I specialise in working with individuals, couples, and families. My approach is grounded in systemic psychotherapy and the principles of Attachment Theory, which emphasises the deep impact early relationships and trauma have on our emotional and relational development.

My work with individuals, couples and families is based on research and neuroscience which tells us that longing for a deep, safe, meaningful relationships is not only deeply wired into our brains but that healthy relationships also improve our mental, emotional and physical health.

My systemic psychotherapeutic training looks at each person's life as influenced by their wider social, community and family networks and, as such, can be either a hinderance or accelerator of self-confidence, growth and well-being. Recognising the difference between the two and finding one's own true potential is of essence to creating a satisfying life.

In my work with individuals, healing begins with identifying how their current difficulties and their sense of self were constructed in the context of their previous experiences and/or traumas. I specialise in supporting clients to understand how past experiences have shaped their current relationships and emotional well-being. Whether you are struggling with feelings of abandonment, mistrust, anxiety, low mood or difficulty forming healthy connections, I provide a compassionate and safe space to heal and grow.

With many years of experience working with people who have experienced early attachment disruptions, I understand how powerful these early experiences are in shaping patterns of behaviour, emotional responses, and relationship dynamics. In therapy, I work with clients to explore how their attachment styles influence their relationships, emotions, and a sense of self. This exploration lays a foundation for change.

Importantly, the work I provide focuses on resourcing people and identifying their qualities and strengths for lasting benefits of their healing journey.

All my work is trauma informed. I integrate trauma-focussed therapy, such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Attachment-focussed EMDR as well as Emotionally Focussed Therapy (EFT). My work is also informed by Somatic Experiencing and Internal Family Systems (IFS) to help clients process and release the trauma held in both, the mind and body. The impact of life’s adversities can be, therefore, neutralised so it no longer has the same impact on a day-to-day life.

HOW DO I WORK
Recognising that no two people are the same, I tailor my therapeutic interventions to the unique needs of each individual, couple, and family to best support insights and tools for personal and relational growth.

I believe that therapy is a collaborative process, and I work alongside my clients offering a warm and empathetic environment to heal from painful experiences and transform relationships. My work offers transparency, respect, interactive and collaborative space where positive regard and trust lay the foundation for the therapist-client relationship.

Over the years I have worked with people impacted by racism, conscious and unconscious negative biases and discrimination. In therapy those lived experiences including its multigenerational, psychological, emotional, social and economic impact on people’s lives, one’s sense of self and the world, can be given a voice it deserves. My work offers transparency, respect, interactive and collaborative space where positive regard and trust lay the foundation for the therapist-client relationship.

Ethos of my practice is inclusivity, openness and respect.

I offer face-to-face sessions in London, W1 as well as therapy online.

About Me

I am a dual national (Polish and British). I came to the UK in 2006 with a master's degree in Pedagogy, Social Work and Social Rehabilitation. My first degree's choice was dictated by my commitment to providing best developmental chances for children and young people as well as equality and justice to deprived and marginalised groups.

Determined to make a difference, I am currently working with children and young people within Tier 4 (hospital) Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) as well as with adults with Eating Disorder, having previously worked in both, community and inpatient settings, in the NHS and private sector.
Previous to that I worked with adults in a Community Mental Health Service (CMHT) followed by work within community Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) NHS Trust.

I completed my Family Therapy training at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience at King’s College London. Since the start of my psychotherapy training in 2014, I have been providing therapeutic services to both adults and children through various Community Mental Health Services.

In addition, in my family and couples' clinic, I provide support and guidance to people wishing to navigate their challenges in a way that builds resilience, strengthens their emotional bonds and leads to a long-lasting connection and closeness. I offer therapy to address relational difficulties, including disconnection, unresolved and recurring conflicts, the impact of adversity, trauma, betrayal, mental and physical health issues, and losses. I provide supervision to other systemic therapist and consultations to other allied health professionals.
