My Approach

I have over 15 years experience helping people heal emotional pain and difficult life situations. I provide a safe and impartial setting where we can talk and think together about your situation and work through any difficulties that you may be experiencing in your life.

I have experience of working with people from many different backgrounds and walks of life and I am experienced working with a wide range of difficulties, including loneliness, emptiness and depression, stress and anxiety including Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD), a lack of confidence or self-esteem, relationship problems, divorce, family worries and conflicts, work-related problems and redundancy, bereavement, trauma and emotional, sexual or physical abuse, addictions, eating disorders and self harm, health problems/long term illnesses/chronic illnesses, baby blues and post-natal depression, twin relationship difficulties/relationship difficulties related to being a twin, identity problems, difficulties associated with a multicultural upbringing and frequently moving home and feelings of being lost in the world and a lack of a sense of belonging.

I am very experienced working with adults who are neurodivergent (ADHD and ASD) and with parents of children with special needs (ASD, ADHD, Global Developmental Delay etc).

I also have extensive experience helping clients overcome anxiety, which can present in a variety of ways and is often the hidden underlying factor in symptoms and conditions such as panic attacks, insomnia, eating disorders, intrusive thoughts, self-harm, compulsions, addictions etc.

About Me

My approach is psychodynamic, aimed at addressing the root cause of any difficulties by uncovering, engaging with and healing the emotional pain that is preventing you from leading a happy and fulfilled life.

Special Interests

Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.

I have extensive experience working with adults who are neurodivergent (ADHD and ASD) and with parents of children with special needs (ASD, ADHD, Global Developmental Delay etc).
I am very experienced in helping clients overcome anxiety, which can present in a variety of ways. It is often associated with feelings of worry and fear, stress, tension, difficulties relaxing, difficulties sleeping, an inability to focus, persistent "what-if" thoughts and catastrophising (to name a few). Anxiety, if untreated, can over time grow into symptoms and conditions such as panic attacks, insomnia, difficulties with memory, sensory sensitivities, hair loss, diabetes, eating disorders, self-harm, compulsions and addictions. Being able to identify the root cause of these conditions and addressing the anxiety directly is key in the recovery process.
I have extensive experience working with adults who are neurodivergent (ADHD and ASD) and with parents of children with special needs (ASD, ADHD, Global Developmental Delay etc).
