My Approach

I place neurodiversity at the heart of how I work. I attend closely to pacing, sensory needs and the hidden costs of masking, and I adapt the therapeutic space so it fits you rather than asking you to fit it. From a Gestalt perspective I stay present-focused and embodied, noticing how feelings, sensations and relational patterns arise in the moment and using that lived experience as a way into deeper self-understanding and safer exploration. I am trauma-informed and identity-affirming, so I hold questions of safety, consent and cultural context with care, while making room for curiosity, creativity and the particular wisdom you bring. Together we will explore new ways of being that feel authentic and sustainable for you.

About Me

Hello! I’m Marta, a Gestalt psychotherapist who works with individuals from many backgrounds and life stages. I specialise in supporting people living with neurodiverse experiences, and I also work extensively with cultural difference, identity and the long shadows of transgenerational and relational trauma. My practice is grounded in a belief that language, culture and the way we move through the world shape how we feel and make meaning; I offer therapy in English, Spanish and Italian so you can bring yourself in the language that feels most authentic. In our work together we will attend to what matters to you now, honouring your strengths and adapting the process to your particular way of being.
In addition to my extensive therapeutic experience, I offer sessions in English, Spanish, and Italian, appreciating how language and culture shape who we are. If you are curious about therapy or want to learn more, visit my website at [kintsugipsychotherapypractice.com](http://kintsugipsychotherapypractice.com) and book a call to discuss your needs. Let’s start the conversation and explore how we can work together toward greater connection and wellbeing.

Special Interests

Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.

I work with people who identify as neurodivergent—ADHD, autism, dyslexia, dyspraxia and other ways of processing the world. I attend to sensory needs, executive differences and the emotional cost of masking, and I adapt pace, structure and communication so therapy fits you, your nervous system and thinking style. Together we notice what supports you (routines, sensory adjustments, external scaffolding) and what drains you, exploring ways of being that preserve your energy and agency. My stance is non-pathologising: neurodiversity is part of who you are, and therapy is a space to develop strategies, deepen self-understanding and hold your strengths alongside the challenges you face.
Culture, language and history shape how we feel, relate and make meaning. I work with people navigating migration, bicultural identity, racialised experience and the complexities of belonging across different communities. Sessions can be in English, Spanish or Italian so you can speak in the language that carries your emotional truth. Together we explore transgenerational messages, family expectations, experiences of marginalisation and the resources that come from culture and community. I aim to create a space that honours difference, interrogates power and supports you to live in ways that feel authentic to your heritage and your present life.
Relationships are a primary place where we learn who we are, and they can also be the source of deep confusion or pain. I work with individuals to map relational patterns—how attachment, boundaries, communication and past hurts show up in present connections. Therapy is a contained space to experiment with new ways of relating, to practise clearer expression and to notice how you regulate with others. Whether you’re struggling with intimacy, repeating difficult patterns or seeking more honest communication, we’ll explore what you long for in relationships and how to slow down, name your needs and move toward more attuned, sustainable connections.
