My Approach

I integrate humanistic, psychodynamic cognitive and creative approaches to psychotherapy. Drawing on Gestalt, Transactional Analysis, Jungian Existential and Somatic frameworks my approach is trauma informed.

About Me

I am an integrative psychotherapist with 30+ years of clinical experience, trained to work with adults, children, groups, and couples. Having started out as counsellor and addiction therapist my work deepened and expanded when I qualified as and integrative arts psychotherapist 15 years ago.

As a psychotherapist I have a strong relational focus that draws on attachment and psychodynamic perspectives. As a trained arts therapist I know the unique power of engaging creativity and imagination to overcome life’s challenges. At times therapy feels hard and gritty and yet there are also those moments of playfulness and spontaneity that bring change and movement where life has felt stuck and featureless. At the heart of my work lies the joy and privilege of working alongside my clients, supporting them to attain their goals, and find a measure of peace, wellbeing and fulfilment that is lifechanging.

I have been based in Harley Street for 15 years, and Canterbury for the last 7, sharing these spaces with trusted colleagues. I have extensive experience in both online therapy and clinical supervision having offered these for 8 years. Throughout my career I have undertaken additional trainings and am committed to updating my knowledge and skills in fast developing disciplines. I am at ease working with a wide range of clinical concerns and diagnoses as well as being fully experienced working as part of a multidisciplinary team in both inpatient and outpatient settings.

I have particular expertise in working with attachment and personality disorders, addiction, trauma and depression. I have a wider interest in spirituality, body-based approaches and am also qualified as a hypnotherapist.

I offer appointments in London and Canterbury as well as online.

Special Interests

Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.

I have experience in working with a wide range of mental health issues in both inpatient and outpatient settings. I have a particular interest in working with neuro diverse clients to enhance mental well being
As some one who works with attachment needs in adults and who has also trained to work with children and with couples I am know that relationship with our selves and others are crucial to our well being. They can be important expressions of who we are . So by working with through painful and difficult relationships and paternal individually or together there is potential not just for resolution but a deeper level of wellbeing . i have a strong systemic bias in my approach .
This for me is a broad area that borders onto both creativity and existential concerns . I have worked extensively with members of different faith communities in the UK and abroad and have been spiritual counsellor in an addiction treatment center
I very much enjoy working with my colleagues as a supervisor . I am able to work with trainee, adult and child and adolescent therapists, and have an integrative systemic, jungian, humanistic and creative approach.
