I am an integrative and transpersonal psychotherapist. This means that I adapt theories and approaches to suit the individual needs of my clients and look at the spiritual aspects of the human experience. Building a safe and secure therapeutic relationship allows me to understand the client’s experience of their world and their relationship to it. I help clients find better ways to deal with the problems they have and work with them to explore their potential, and to help grow their often hidden inner resources. When appropriate I like to use creative methods such as breath work, visualisations, artwork and dreams to help find wisdom, meaning and purpose in life.
I am a UKCP Registered Psychotherapist and UKCP Recognised Supervisor.
I see clients at the Centre for Counselling and Psychotherapy Education (London W2), in Bury St Edmunds, and online via Zoom.
I began my psychotherapeutic and counselling career in 2010. My working life had before that embraced a diversity of roles from graphic design, to people management, to post 16 teaching. My psychotherapy training was at the Centre for Counselling and Psychotherapy Education (CCPE). In 2017 I became a member of staff at CCPE working as a facilitator on the diploma course and later as a supervisor. I’m also a member of the Centre’s clinical team.
My life experience - both personal and professional - has given me the ability to relate directly and with empathy to many of the issues and problems that people present with in therapy. I am deeply aware of the contribution psychotherapy can make to our wellbeing, our self-worth and our confidence; and to helping combat isolation and social exclusion. One client wrote in their feedback: feeling safe, centred and having a greater sense of self. Another said: your calmness, and compassion enabled me to see my own unique potential. I will miss your ability to listen intently, your humanness, genuine compassion and belief in me.
