I am a UKCP registered Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapist with a Masters qualification. My working experience includes running a private practice in Bristol for the past 20 years. I also work for the Trauma Foundation South West. Contact number 07760395169.
Although the emphasis of my training has focused upon improving general mental health and well-being I have particular experience associated with working with clients suffering from anxiety, trauma, depression, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, sexual abuse, bereavement, suicidal feelings and relationship problems. In simpler terms, the bread and butter of my work involves helping people suffering with low self-esteem, anger or shameful feelings, physical symptoms, addictions and distressing thought patterns that can make everyday life torturous and bewildering.
At present, in addition to gaining a thorough psychotherapy training, I am increasing my knowledge of how the nervous system uncovers the experience of trauma to act as a guide for healing through Sensorimotor Psychotherapy. The Non Violent Communication approach is also a basic staple of my work. The key focus of this approach makes its very valuable contribution to unravelling relationship problems through recognising the needs and feelings of all parties as a first step. The second stage of this method provides practical guidance about how to listen and what to say in response.
Finding a therapist you can talk to with some ease is the first step, please feel free to call me if you wish to discuss what you are looking for in therapy.
