I am a psychodynamic practitioner. I help clients find patterns in their emotions, thoughts and beliefs in order to gain insight into current difficulties and distress. I work with the past and the present to unravel experience and understand their deep rooted feelings in order to resolve them and enhance self-awareness.
I provide long & short-term individual & couple therapy. I have 15 years post-qualifying experience working within the NHS primary & secondary care mental health services with adults suffering from a range of issues: depression, anxiety, trauma, grief & major life changes. I have experience working with a range of complexities including abuse, personality based problems, relational difficulties & stress related issues.
I am also registered with the British Psychoanalytic Council as an accredited Dynamic Interpersonal Therapy (DIT) practitioner. DIT is a short-term (16 sessions) psychodynamic therapy for individuals with emotional and relationship problems. DIT aims to help people deal with relationship problems more effectively and thereby improve psychological symptoms.
I work with couples with mild to severe problems which includes dealing with family/parental stress, communication difficulties, conflict, emotional trauma, trust & infidelity, lack of intimacy/unmet needs & distressing dynamics.
