My approach is grounded in existential psychotherapy. At its heart is the belief that every person's experience is unique and that many of life's difficulties arise through our relationships, circumstances, choices and search for meaning.
Rather than focusing solely on symptoms, I work collaboratively with clients to explore what may be happening beneath the surface. Therapy can help you understand patterns that may be keeping you stuck, develop greater self-awareness and find new ways of responding to challenges.
My work is relational, compassionate and trauma-informed. I draw on extensive experience supporting people with anxiety, depression, trauma, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, life transitions, workplace stress, loss and questions of identity and purpose.
I offer three ways of working:
• Single-session therapy for focused support around a specific issue, challenge or decision.
• Short-term therapy for those wanting to work on a particular difficulty over an agreed number of sessions.
• Longer-term psychotherapy for deeper exploration of longstanding patterns, relationships and personal development.
Together we can think about what would be most helpful for you at this point in your life.
People come to therapy for many different reasons. You may be feeling anxious, overwhelmed, stuck in repeating patterns, struggling in relationships, experiencing loss, or questioning where your life is heading. Sometimes there is a clear problem to address; at other times there is simply a feeling that things are not as you would like them to be.
I am a UKCP-accredited psychotherapist with over 15 years' experience working in private practice, the NHS, universities, charities and specialist trauma services. Alongside my private practice, I have held senior clinical leadership positions within NHS and trauma-focused organisations, supporting people experiencing a wide range of emotional and psychological difficulties, from everyday challenges to complex and longstanding issues.
Before training as a psychotherapist, I worked in the legal profession and hold a law degree. This experience gives me an appreciation of the pressures many professionals face, including stress, responsibility, burnout, career transitions and difficult life decisions.
I offer a warm, thoughtful and confidential space where you can speak openly and be met with curiosity rather than judgement. My aim is not to tell you what to do, but to help you better understand yourself, your relationships and the choices available to you.
I offer single-session therapy, short-term therapy and longer-term psychotherapy, depending on what feels most appropriate for your circumstances. Whether you are seeking support for a specific issue or looking for deeper personal exploration, we can work together to find an approach that meets your needs.
