I am qualified to a MSc Level in Integrative Psychotherapy and practice an Integrative, Developmental and Relational Approach.
Integrative is accepting parts of the self or feelings we may have rejected.
Developmental is considering how our childhood and history affects our present.
Relational is placing importance of the relationship between client and therapist.
I incorporate many theoretical approaches including; Attachment theory, Object Relations, Humanistic, Transactional Analysis, Gestalt and many more. Ultimately I focus on creating a safe space for you to share your story and explore your feelings. I am flexible in my approach as a psychotherapist and the way I work with everyone is different, depending on your needs.
My aim is to offer a safe, confidential and non-judgemental environment for you to explore your feelings. This could be a period in your life when you are experiencing change, anxiety, stress or overwhelm and extra support is needed. Other issues that may lead you to psychotherapy could be; eating disorders, OCD, panic attacks, addiction, bereavement, depression or relationship problems. The therapy is a way of working through past trauma's or present difficulties in a way where you can move forward with your life, feeling more connected to yourself and others.
This is facilitated by weekly sessions on either a short or long term basis. I work with individuals on an open-ended basis or for an agreed time period, with the aim of enabling you to enhance your life and to live it more fully.
My experience as a psychotherapist has seen me working in many different settings which have included a Women's Centre, IAPT Primary Care and a counselling charity. I have also worked in an FE College, Young persons agency and Schools. This is alongside my private practice based in central Leamington Spa.
I have experience working with clients on a short term basis, privately and within the NHS - although I tend to work long term, working towards meaningful and lasting change. We can discuss this in our first session together.
I am registered with BUPA, AXA and Aviva healthcare.
I also offer clinical supervision to counsellors, psychotherapists and others in the helping professions. My supervision model is relational developmental and I am comfortable working with therapists of varying modalities as well as students in training.
