About Me

'Life begins not at birth but with the onslaught of awareness' Dr. K. Bradford Brown

My own intense journey of personal awareness development began in 1994. During the following five years I attended weekend and week-long experiential courses in the UK and America. What I learnt was the power of the mind to either be destructive or constructive depending on awareness.
This deep interest led me to training as a Psychotherapist in 1997 at the Centre for Counselling and Psychotherapy Education at Warwick Place in London, I was accredited and registered with UKCP in 2001 and I have remained a member of BACP throughout.
I have always followed where I am drawn and the theme throughout is relationships. My focus has been in seeking to understand relationships, how to relate in healthy ways and therefore learning about the deep impact of power dynamics, power imbalance and the right use of power.
For the first eight years I worked with women in domestic violent relationships, then women and children exploring the impact of living with abuse in the family and this led to thinking more systemically.
I attended a systemic skills training, overseen by the Consultant Family Psychotherapist and became part of the family therapy team at the Basildon Mental Health Hospital, this was in secondary care. The impact of this experience allowed me to understand suffering through a far wider lens and know that if the right environment is created we can be guided back to our own wisdom.

I also completed an Advanced Diploma in couple therapy and a one year training at the Maudsley Hospital in 'Creative Supervision'.
I became a recognised Supervisor with UKCP in 2017 and supervision remains a third of my private practice today. I continue to see individuals and couples, co-creating healthier relationships either with themselves or within the couple.

I have worked for Women’s Aid, Rape Crisis and the NHS in Adult Mental Health.
