I am a Family and Systemic Psychotherapist who works with individuals, couples and families. My main areas of experience in both practice and research are women's mental health and wellbeing, sexual violence and childhood sexual abuse, intimate partner violence, parental mental health, family wellbeing, safety and non violence, narrative approaches, working creatively and collaboratively. I am also a mindfulness practitioner. I have just completed my professional doctorate in Systemic Practice at the University of Bedfordhsire. I completed my qualifying training (MSc) at the Family Institute Wales and also completed a diploma in child focused practice at the Institute of Family Therapy, London. I have been working in adult mental health services for nearly 10 years now. I currently work in the NHS in Wales as a family therapist and previously worked in British island health care trust in a similar role. Before that I worked in the voluntary sector (12 years) working with families impacted by abuse, violence, oppression and deprivation and it's associated impact on mental health, wellbeing and family life.
I work in the South Wales area, based in Porthcawl, Bridgend; and in private practice offer a space for people to work through any and all of life's challenges, in a way that supports them to go on in their lives, to connect with others; and connect with their own values and hopes for the future.
