Special Interests

Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.

I use EMDR and am able to carry this out with online sessions, using the latest online technology. I generally use this method with people who are in medium or long-term psychotherapy with me
I have a special interest in working with complex family structures and support parents and step-parents to do the best for the children involved in their care. I often work in cases in The Family Court acting as an expert, especially where children are in the middle of high conflict divorces and parental alientation. I and my team work with many local authorities in such cases, or I am named as an expert in privaate proceedings.
I offer online sessions as these often work better for both parents and young people who have busy lives. I work with adults and children around the world, especially in the US and Europe.
My approach called the Vital Parenting Tasks is used where I work with parents or parents and children together. This was developed via my Doctoral research.
I have specialist knowledge and experience of working with children, young people and adults with traumatic histories. I often include EMDR in the treatment of trauma, developmental trauma or other complex issues
