My work is informed by 5 years of intensive integrative psychotherapy training, which included Psychodynamic, humanistic, and Existential psychotherapy. I am also a qualified PCE-CfD (Counselling for depression) practitioner, which is the NICE recommended approach for working with depression within the NHS.
I commit to providing a warm, open and safe space to reflect upon and explore the issues that matter to you.
I see therapy as a creative and collaborative process of facilitating self-understanding and connecting with your values, as well as acknowledging the limitations and possibilities in life. We are all unique and different, yet no one is perfect. Therapy is not a magic wand to resolve all of our life problems, or ‘fix’ you into a different person. Instead, I believe examining your life allows you to connect with who you are and empowers you to make better decisions that feel right for you. I offer sessions in English and Japanese.
My name is Kyoko. I am a BACP and UKCP registered, fully qualified psychotherapist with over 10 years of experience. Over the years, I am privileged to have supported various people across different ages and cultural backgrounds. I worked in an NHS talking therapy service for more than 5 years. Currently, along with my private practice, I work in the staff counselling service at the University of Cambridge.
