I am an integrative psychotherapist offering individual sessions for children, adolescents, adults and parents. Also, I provide support to parents so that they can reflect upon the developmental needs of their child and family dynamics to promote attachment, regulation, and the environment surrounding the child. For me, the most important part of my work is the therapeutic relationship, as well as creating a safe, nurturing, confidential space for young people and adults to allow them to explore their inner world and discover their true selves. I have a keen interest in attachment, child development, trauma, neuroscience, and intergenerational complexities. I am a psychotherapist for The Butterfly Room, Stevenage as well as offering private therapy. I am a qualified Child, Adolescent and Adult Psychotherapist and a member of the UKCP and BACP. I have an MA-level Child and Adolescent psychotherapy qualification accredited by UKCP.
I have many years of experience working in various types of educational settings, facilitating therapy with young people and adults. I have extensive experience in working with children/young people of various ages with social, and emotional difficulties including ASD, ADHD, OCD and Attachment Disorders alongside supporting parents. I have worked with adults and young people who have experienced trauma, sexual abuse, neglect, anxiety, low self-esteem, bereavement, body dysmorphia, self-harm and suicidal thoughts.
I provide therapeutic work with children, adolescents, adults and families. My integrative practice allows me to adapt my approach to each individual to build a therapeutic relationship and develop a safe, non-judgmental space for our work together.
As we journey through life, we all encounter a variety of challenges and difficulties. No matter what stage of life you are at, there can be times when situations become overwhelming, and you are unsure of what to do or where to turn. The act of reaching out for support can have a very empowering effect, resulting not only in personal growth but also in the development of the network that surrounds you. I am here to support you and be alongside you and/or your child during the healing process.
Each of us is unique and I draw upon a wide variety of theoretical approaches and styles to support children, young people, and adults with varying difficulties and concerns. As well as talking I can incorporate play, art and creativity within the therapeutic space to support self-expression and make sense of feelings and behaviours. I provide support to the network surrounding the child or young person, including educational settings and other professionals.
I also run group therapy sessions for adolescents and adults focussing on themes such as anxiety, self-harm, self-esteem, identity, neurodiversity etc.
