My approach is client centred, confidential and collaborative. I offer a secure and confidential space in which to discuss whatever it is that may be troubling you: be it anxiety, depression, long-term emotional difficulties, or a lack of fulfilment or a sense of meaning or purpose in life or finding a transition in your life circumstances difficult.
People who come to see me have experienced a range of issues in life. These include relationship difficulties (both heterosexual and LGBTQ+), post-natal depression, low self-confidence or self-esteem, difficulty communicating feelings and emotions, suicidal feelings, addiction, abuse, self-harm and eating disorders, unexplained health symptoms, issues relating to having been at boarding school and trauma. I have worked for several years in the voluntary sector, private practice, a secondary school and the NHS (psychotherapy unit and for GPs). Some concerns can benefit from a focussed short-term approach, but others may benefit from a broader approach that also takes into account an individual’s personality as a whole as well as their upbringing and any particular life events.
I am an experienced psychodynamic psychotherapist. I am registered with The British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC) and am an Accredited Member of the BACP. I am undertaking further postgraduate studies at the Society of Analytical Psychology in Adult Analysis
To make an initial appointment please telephone me or email. I will respond as soon as I can.
I am registered with the following private health providers: Aviva, Cigna, WPA, AXA PPP
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
