I am a qualified person-centred counsellor and psychotherapist. Person-centred counselling and psychotherapy are a sensitive exploration of a person's inner world and experiences. I believe that within a safe and caring therapeutic relationship people may develop self-awareness and self-acceptance, and ultimately find the power within themselves to move forward.
We are all unique, and therefore the true experts on ourselves. I take a non-directive and non-judgmental approach, following where my clients lead and avoiding analysis, techniques and advice. I believe it is important that clients are in control of the therapeutic process, and that the direction and depth we go to in sessions are informed and guided by them.
Within each of us there are great resources and potential. I see my role as helping my clients explore whatever concerns them, so that they can begin to see things more clearly and draw upon their own inner strengths to face life's challenges.
I trained at The Metanoia Institute in London, which is a leading counselling and psychotherapy training institution. I graduated with a distinction, and am a registered member of the BACP and a full clinical psychotherapist registered with the UKCP. I sat on the Clinical Ethics Committee of the Metanoia Institute for five years.
This member has completed UKCP Covid-19 Online Working Guidance.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
