My first priority is to listen to the person who has come to see me. Between us we decide how best to use our time together; so that so that they will most benefit from the knowledge and experience I have to offer. I, then, invest all that I can into the therapy process; reviewing and keeping a listening stance throughout.
As a young adult, I came to realise that adopting psychotherapy as my profession would be right for me; so I started my learning' journey.
I have been an increasingly qualified, and continuously practising, therapist for 30 years.
Initially, I obtained, in-depth and substantial training in the , CBT, Adlerian, Existential (for which I obtained my Masters' degree and UKCP' registration) and Systemic approaches.
After this, I obtained specialist training to work with people affected by infertility, and by adoption, and was accreditted as an ACE counsellor by the Post Adoption Centre (PAC), and then, byecame an accreditted member of the British Infertility Counselling Association..So I became AMBICA (IP).
Then; I full trained in EMDR, and started using it; in addition to my other training, both to counter the aftermath of traumas of all kinds, and for anxiety-related issues.
In my work with couples and families; having been very well-prepared through my trainings in the Adlerian and Systemic approaches; several years ago, I fully trained in EFT (Emotionally Focused Therapy) for couples, and have been using this, as well, ever since.
I work from my home in Southgate, North London . This is 10 minutes' walk from Southgate Station. There is free parking immediately outside.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
