My Approach

If you are having problems in your world - with anxiety, stress, overwhelm, loneliness, grief, relationships (or lack of) or another specific issue or dilemma - you may find it helpful to 'unpack' and 'make sense' of your experiences through the process of psychotherapy.

I offer personalised psychotherapy which is tailored to your needs. I don't use protocols or manualised techniques and draw on a range of ideas to inform our work together. You may be seeking therapy in response to a challenging situation or change – or you may be looking for some time and space for deeper reflection on your life. You may want to explore your past, your life at present or your future – and how they may be connected. I will work with you to explore what ever you bring to our sessions and hold the wider picture of our work together. Many people experience distress or unhappiness in their lives and I believe this is not usually a sign of a mental health problem. Together we explore the possible sources of this unease, how this is affecting you and whether you might choose to make changes.

Typically we have an initial session in which to explore what it is that is happening in your life at present, what it is you're looking for from therapy - and how we might work together. In this first session, we can explore if we think we are suited to working with each other and make an agreement to work together.

Some of my clients work with me for several years, some for a few months or weeks, and occasionally some people come for a single session in order to clarify a specific issue in their life.

I work with people from many different walks of life and all age groups. I often work with people who feel they don't fit, are trying to make sense of their experience and to find their place in the world.

About Me

I'm an experienced psychotherapist currently working in private practice in two locations - London SE1 (close to London Bridge ), Guildford, Surrey AND ONLINE.
I work with clients for short or long term therapy for a range of difficulties that they may be experiencing. I have a particular interest in working with anxiety, bereavement, work related stress, mid-life changes. I bring curiosity, warmth and intelligence to my work with clients. I create a space for clients to reflect and make sense of their life experiences - often leading to new insights and an awareness of the choices they are making in their lives. This can open up the possibility for change.
