Hello. Thank you for visiting my profile. I'm a highly experienced psychotherapist and counsellor, and have worked in many diverse settings for over 20 years in the UK, Australia, and Asia. Some of my work arenas include the veteran and veterans' families community, hospitals, prisons, schools, family and children's services, sexual abuse prevention programs, universities, the corporate sector and within the arts. Currently, in London, I conduct a private online practise for individuals and couples. I also work internationally.
I have been an online (video counselling ) psychotherapist for many years and very much enjoy working with my clients from many different places in the comfort of their homes or when they are travelling.
I draw on many therapeutic approaches to suit your needs, as you present them to me, and I work creatively and gently with you to achieve your goals. Sometimes a goal can be just to talk things through; or it can be to manage ongoing anxiety, or to address relationship challenges, or make important life changes. Your problems and concerns are always treated in strict confidence and addressed at a pace that feels comfortable for you.
As a fully qualified and registered psychotherapist (UKCP, BPA) I adhere to a Code of Ethics which ensures that I practise safely and maintain very high standards in my professional life.
One of my main specialist fields is trauma. If you have experienced early years trauma, (Adverse Child Experiences), family trauma, early years sexual abuse, sexual assault, bullying, traumatic grief, inter-generational trauma, cultural trauma, military and combat trauma, or if you have a diagnosis of PTSD, I have knowledge and skills to support you to work through your experiences in a safe and effective way.
As a creative, with a performing arts background, I also have experience working with artists, and warmly welcome you to my practise.
I can also work within a transpersonal frame and incorporate ancestral legacies as part of a wider systemic approach to your therapy.
As your psychotherapist, my aim is to always work to enhance your well being by supporting you to identify and clarify your issues and to discover ways to release past hurts and be strengthened to make new choices for your present and future. Together we work towards you living an authentic and loving life, where you are in charge of your life pathways.
I enjoy working with couples and utilise an evidence based model, which when applied by the couple, can create significant change.
Feel free to email me to book a 30 mins telephone introduction, at no cost to you, to discuss your needs, and to ask me questions about my approach as a psychotherapist. My fees are £85 for psychotherapy trainees, £110 for individuals, and £150 for couples. AXA, AVIVA, CIGNA, & VITALITY Insurance is possible.
I look forward to meeting with you. Thank-you, Julie.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
