Life is sometimes difficult, it may be relationships, health, past experiences or other worries that cause us distress. There are also times when we may feel depressed or anxious, and have a sense that we are not living the life we would like. Often when life is stressful we cope in the only ways we know how. Often these coping mechanisms do not offer us a way forward, they keep us doing the same old things.
At the moment you may feel stuck, confused, sad or alone. Perhaps you would like your life to be different, and you don't know where to start. Finding and accepting help can be difficult; remember you are not the only one to suffer emotional distress, it is part of being human.
Personal growth and development is an important part of all our lives. It offers us the opportunity to move forward, do things differently, and feel more alive.
Counselling is a key part of personal growth and development. It provides an opportunity to explore any difficulties or issues you have in a safe, confidential, and professional space. You may want to consider your past, your future, and most importantly your present circumstances. You can explore anything that’s important to you, it is your space.
As a Gestalt therapist, I will support you in your exploration, where I will be focused on you and what you are bringing. Sometimes we are unaware of some of our feelings, and our relationships may baffle us. I will support you in becoming aware of your feelings, and in how your relationships impact your life. After all, relationships are one of the most important things in our lives.
