My name is Julia and I am a registered Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist in Oxford. I specialise in working with young people aged 5 - 25 and with families. I use imagery and the arts to help shine a light on thoughts and feelings when it is hard to find the words. Art can help to deepen the conversation but the use of the arts depends on the preferences of each individual client. I offer online or face to face therapy for young people suffering with anxiety, depression, loss and many issues related to the current COVID crisis. My training is suited to long term therapy which can address deeper rooted issues.
I am a Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist with over 18 years experience working with young people and families, privately and in schools. I trained at the Institute for Arts in Therapy and Education (IATE) in London. I have worked with young people in primary and secondary education and with young adults at university. I have extensive experience working with parents, either alongside or separately from, the child work. If appropriate I can liaise with school staff to build understanding around your child's difficulties. You can find out more about me, my services and my approach on my website.
