My approach is integrative and particularly informed by psychodynamic, Jungian, gestalt and transpersonal psychology. These terms might be curious to you or feel less relevant. The key thing is what you want to bring and making time and space for what you want to talk about and explore. If you feel comfortable with me then we might begin a therapy journey and develop a constructive therapeutic relationship that allows your process to unfold.
It might be helpful to know that part of my ongoing professional development is in Jungian Psychology and I also offer twice and three-times-a-week analysis. I have a background working in supportive relationships in organisations for fifteen years and I've been working in private practice settings for seven years.
Hello, I am Juan and I offer therapy as a potentially meaningful process in your life. Crises, traumas and wounds can show up any time and are often linked with the past. Therapy can help you make sense of those links; revealing new insights which give relief and alleviate suffering. Sometimes, there is no crisis and it's more a sense that therapy could be meaningful at this time.
Therapy can empower you to experience yourself as more alive, fresh and meaningful. Therapy can also be tender, as it invites vulnerability and intimacy. It’s important to choose someone you feel safe with. If you sense you might feel safe with me, feel free to reach out. We can arrange a first meeting and take it from there.
Therapy can support you through life transitions, stages or phases. It can develop your sense of growth, change, evolution, self-realisation or any other meaningful. It can enable you to discover more about yourself and that can make you feel more whole.
Things that can support the process include noticing and sharing your dreams, journaling, creativity, body work, good sleep and supportive nutrition.
In a society plagued with materialism, superficiality, addiction and emptiness, therapy can offer to enrich and deepen your sense of self and quality of life. Expressing tears, anger and emotion is healthy. Finding the right words to put to unspoken innermost thoughts and feelings can be significant. There's no guarantees and it isn't always comfortable, but with commitment and collaboration something good and better is possible.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
