Although my training has ranged through person centred, gestalt, and integrative approaches my main approach over the past decade has been that of existential phenomenology. I am primarily interested in how my clients can gain a view on how they want to live life and in the application of that view into the real world. Blocks that may exist from the past are deal with if and when they are encountered in freeing clients to act in the world. All of my work is underpinned by philosophy and I work to facilitate clients in working out their own unique philosophy of life.
I have been doing counselling and psychotherapy for more than 30years and have had training in many approaches which I integrate within the existential approach and I see the existential approach as greatly facilitating integration of approaches, as well as integration of aspects of life. Most importantly this approach allows me to meet clients in ways which are most beneficial to them.
I work in Doncaster, but also now offer online meetings. For me working as a psychotherapist is a natural and joyful way to live life and I am continually fascinated by the richness, depth, and often undiscovered talent of the people I meet as clients.
