I am a UKCP registered Systemic psychotherapist, trained at the Tavistock Clinic, with a background in Mental Health nursing for which I trained at Bethlem Royal and Maudsley Hospital. I have over 30 years experience in family therapy, couple therapy and individual psychotherapy, with a particular focus on mental health problems in families, eating disorders, trauma, anxiety, depression and work related stress.
My therapeutic approach is systemic, working with clients within the context of their relationships, attachment patterns, belief systems and interactions.
My practice involves supporting families, couples and individuals to negotiate trauma, address mental health problems, manage change and strengthen relationships by facilitating a 'safe space' to think about challenging issues, understand one another's perspectives and re-negotiate relationships.
I provide a therapeutic space and support which allows individuals to gain insight, increase self awareness, acquire self-care skills and grow resilience. I facilitate a safe context in which clients can express and explore difficult emotions and thoughts safely and build on strengths to create beneficial change in their lives.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
