My Approach

At the core of all my work with clients, students and supervisees is a focus on human relationship, with all its complexity of levels, experience and defences against love and intimacy. I use talking therapy, guided visualisation, meditation training and experience of teaching Mindfulness to help people expand awareness and come into a deeper, more compassionate relationship with themselves, with others and with the world around them.

About Me

I have over 20 years experience working in the field of Psychosynthesis Psychology, trained to MA Psychotherapy level at the Institute of Psychosynthesis, Hendon. These days I work mainly with individuals and groups interested in personal and spiritual development - counselling, teaching and supervising from a context that also incorporates compassion-based Mindfulness teaching and Insight Meditation.

Special Interests

Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.

I have a lot of experience of bereavement, both personally and professionally, and recognise the importance of allowing space and holding for the full grieving process - which is different for everyone - to unfold in its own time. Ultimately, this can be a very profound experience of healing and spiritual development.
I am passionate about the importance and value of relationship, and attempt to model this by working as a relational therapist. The quality of internal relationship with oneself ripples out to partners, family, friends, colleagues, social groups, cross-cultural exchanges etc. and thus impacts the world. A core concept of my training in Mindfulness is awareness of Racial and Cultural conditioning.
My experience in this field derives from a combination of personal experience awareness and context informed both by Psychosynthesis psychospiritual psychology and compassion-based Mindfulness teaching.
