My Approach

I am a Family Psychotherapist which means I work with families, individuals, and people in close relationships (including couples) who are experiencing a range of problems including difficulties with parenting, divorce/ separation, and coping with challenging childhood and adolescent behaviours. Family Therapy helps family members to better communicate with one another, to understand each other's perspectives, to reduce distress and suffering, and where applicable, to resolve conflict.

About Me

I have supported people experiencing relationship and mental health difficulties for over 14 years. I have specific experience in the fields of adult mental health and addiction, and CAMHS (Child & Adolescent Mental Health Services). I work for an NHS CAMH service in London, specialising in neuro-developmental conditions (e.g. ADHD and Autism). I do not currently offer private appointments.

I hold Masters qualifications in both Clinical Psychology and Family & Systemic Psychotherapy and am registered with AFT (Association of Systemic & Family Therapy) and the UKCP.

I work with

  • Children and young people
  • Couples
  • Families
  • Individuals

Special Interests

Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.

As a Family Therapist my primary interest is in working together with families/ those in close relationships to resolve their difficulties. My aim is always to explore the family's strengths and resources in order to support meaningful and long-term change.
I can support both children/ adolescents and adults with a range of emotional difficulties, including low mood and anxiety. My approach is to understand behaviour (e.g. self harm) as a form of communication. Through collaborative therapy, I support families & individuals to uncover the meaning of challenging behaviours in order to develop appropriate and compassionate responses to them.
As a Family Therapist I often work with parents who are struggling to implement boundaries and to have a positive emotional connection with their child(ren). I support parents to explore their own beliefs about the role of a 'parent', child development and behaviour, and how these ideas may differ between parents. I invite parents to reflect on their own childhoods and relationships with their parents/ carers, and how these early experiences may be influencing current relationship patterns.
