I think choosing a therapist is mostly about finding someone you can trust. Three things really matter:
1. Is the therapist well-trained?
2. Are they kind?
3. Would you feel comfortable working with them?
If the answer to these questions is Yes, you’ll very likely be able to build a reliable working relationship.
I am an integrative and psychodynamic psychoptherapist working with adults of all ages.
For me, well-trained means a formal 5 year training, with a clear model of human development, a decade or more in the field, and long experience of actually being a client as well as a therapist!
I work online using Zoom. I don't charge for the first assessment session unless you decide to continue to the second assessment.
Have a look at my website www.psychotherapistwest.london and if you’d like to discuss starting psychotherapy or counselling with me, send me an email therapy@carne.com, or via the Contact form on my site, and we can arrange an initial conversation.
Some of the issues I work with:
- Anxiety
- Depression
- Relationship issues
- Prenatal and postnatal emotional difficulties
- Bereavement
- Trauma
- Long-term effects of growing up with mentally unwell parents
- Struggling to find meaning, purpose and motivation, when the world can seem so bleak
I am registered with the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy and the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy.
