Therapy gives you an opportunity to explore the areas in your life where you are struggling with a trained professional who is there to listen to how it is for you. The therapist is responsible for providing an environment that is safe, trustworthy and confidential.
Each of us shapes our personality into a unique form, with which we identify and see the world through. Core Process brings awareness to this shaping of experience and explores the presence of the past in the present moment. There is an encouragement to let go of these fixed patterns and find a place to rest within your own potential.
I decided to train as a psychotherapist because I was interested in working with people and wanted to understand more about myself and the people around me.
I trained at the Karuna Institute and have been practising as a therapist since 1999 and as a supervisor since 2010.
I also work in the mental health field in a service specialised in supporting those who have experienced trauma, especially complex trauma resulting from childhood sexual abuse. I have a particular interest in trauma, attachment, dissociation and shame.
I am a New Zealander by birth. I lived in Cumbria for ten years before moving to Edinburgh in 2000. I am enjoying living in the country of my ancestors. I resource myself and my practice by enjoying the space and freedom of the hills and sea and the company of those that encourage me to open my heart.
