My Approach

Relational stance. Cognitive Analytic Psychotherapy/Group Analytic.
Having studied Philosophy as an undergraduate, Jay feels drawn to a philosophical and existential appreciation of the nature of our Being and how some of the ideas found there, connect with relational psychoanalytic approaches to our understanding of self, others and the world.

About Me

Jay is a Psychotherapist, Supervisor, & Group Analyst in Training with many years’ experience working as a Psychotherapist in mental health services in the NHS, and in drug rehabilitation services in West London. He was lead for the Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT) Service in Somerset NHS Trust, before moving to Devon to take up work as a Psychotherapist in a Specialist Therapeutic Community within the Personality Disorder Service where he worked for 10 years. Jay’s clinical experience and interests include treatment for personality disorders (more recently understood as complex emotional needs); complex trauma and dissociative processes; eating disorders; OCD; anxiety and depression.
