I am integrative in my approach. I bring together psychodynamic approaches focusing on past history and early life experience with more humanistic and somatic ways of working. The focus of my approach is on building a therapeutic relationship based on respect and trust that feels safe and empathic for the client.
I am an integrative psychotherapist with over 30 years of experience. I currently work individually with adults and young people aged 16plus online, using Zoom, and in person. I offer a safe, empathic space to talk about issues and feel heard and understood. I also make use of gentle, non contact somatic techniques to help calm the nervous system and process feelings that may be hard to put into words. I work with clients bringing a wide range of issues including depression, anxiety, bereavement, relationship difficulties, family problems, work issues, ADHD and ASD, trauma, childhood neglect and abuse and parenting issues. As well as being an adult psychotherapist I am also an experienced child and adolescent psychotherapist. I work with parents with children of all ages including parents to be and new parents. I have worked within the NHS and in voluntary sector organisations. I also supervise work with both adults and children/young people.
