My Approach

I combine the psychodynamic approach of Jung with the empathy and congruence of Rogers, against an existential framework that challenges the individual to reassess their values and create real change in their life.

About Me

I am an integrative psychotherapist with an Advanced Diploma in counseling and Psychotherapy, working for the NHS with patients at Guy’s hospital (Maudsley Trust), Mind and The Samaritans. I have been working privately since 2010 and have a wide range of clients, choosing to work on a sliding scale.

I work with

  • Couples
  • Individuals

Special Interests

Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.

I engage with the client in a congruent, non-judgmental way so that they feel heard, understood and valued and reassure them they have equal rights to happiness and securing a solid sense of their own identity.
I create cognitive awareness of anger triggers and combine psychodynamic interpretation, empathy and contemporary techniques to regain a sense of control over negative feelings
I apply a psychodynamic interpretation of significant events leading to PTSD and emotional trauma and integrate this with CBT and a robust existential framework to bring anxiety down and enable clients to become less fear driven and more in touch with their desires.
I engage with some form of grief work with all my clients as from an early age, we can experience loss that is unresolved. This work is essential, painful and healing.
I work with the concept of depression as anger turned inwards, focussing on leaning into the negative feelings, valuing rather than fighting their existence, to effectively break down mental blocks rather than suppress them
