As we are thrown into the thick of life, it is our response to these circumstances which reveal who we are and where we may want to go. As life is anything but a linear process - we may often stumble or get stuck along the way. We may even describe the stumbling blocks as anxiety, depression, numbness or even shame.
Some of our therapy work could involve examining those stumbling blocks and challenge your ideas, choices and reasoning processes. I encourage you to remain open to all aspects and stimulate you to consider ones often overlooked. I work with all types of people, many of whom are dissatisfied with where they are and are looking to develop a better life project.
My approach draws from philosophy as well as psychology. The use of philosophical concepts helps to illuminate conflicts and life choices and illustrates different ways of helping to take stock, reconsider options and find new paths. Common questions could be: What sort of life do I want to lead? What type of person do I strive to be? Why does it make sense that I sometimes self-sabotage?
Regardless of the presenting issues, it is a journey we embark on together.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
