As a Systemic Psychotherapist I seek to offer a safe space and build trust in the therapeutic relationship as these are key factors in the success of any therapy, therefore my approach is collaborative, non-judgemental and transparent. Sessions are confidential except where there are issues of Safeguarding.
Systemic psychotherapy offers you the opportunity to work with your partner, family, significant people in your network, as well as on your own to seek solutions, recover, repair relationships and make sustainable positive changes. I use a strength-based approach, that uses your own skills and resilience. I am creative and use different types of communication methods, especially when words are hard to find, i.e. I use play, objects, and drawing.
Clients also benefit from my knowledge and experience of CBT, CAT, EFT and trauma focused techniques. I also offer group therapy using the Tree of Life for trauma or for teams.
Most of my experience is working with adults, young children and families with a wide range of mental disorders. I also work with clients who are neuro diverse. Some of the issues I have experience working with include anxiety, depression, difficulty managing emotions, low self-esteem, grief, trauma, child sexual abuse, difficult attachment patterns, domestic abuse, lifecycle transitions, and racial trauma. This is not comprehensive so in the consultation process we will explore your specific needs.
I am based in Bromley and offer face to face and online sessions. Free 15-minute initial telephone consultation offered. Fees are £70 per hour for individuals and £90 per hour for couples and families. Supervision fees are offered on a sliding scale.
Please feel free to contact me if you would like an informal discussion about your needs and how we can work together
I am a qualified and experienced Couple and Family Systemic Psychotherapist and Systemic Supervisor. I trained at the Institute of Psychiatry (IOP), Tavistock Centre, and The Institute of Family Therapy in London. Prior to becoming a psychotherapist, I was an adult mental health social worker, and I have worked in the NHS for 31 years.
I am a member of the Association of Family Therapists, registered with the UKCP and hold an Enhanced DBS Certificate. I regularly attend workshops and training courses as part of my continuing professional development and have monthly clinical supervision.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
