Core Process Psychotherapy (CPP) helps people connect with their body and mind and work towards easing the impact that stress, depression and anxiety can have on them. This combines Western psychotherapy and neurobiology with Eastern mindfulness practice. By bringing attention to emotions and sensations in the body and observing our thoughts, we can learn more about our deeply held beliefs, drives and defensive habits, and how they shape our daily experience and relationships with others and ourselves.
CPP was an approach that I felt honoured the mind, body, and human spirit. I studied at the highly regarded Karuna Institute as it provided a unique embodied approach to mindfulness-based psychotherapy training. I felt a deep connection with the wisdom and optimism of this style of therapy that believes in the inherent 'core' health of the individual and explores how we 'process' our emotional and physical experience.
I am an accredited Core Process Psychotherapist with a MA in Mindfulness Based Psychotherapeutic Practice. I work online and in person (in Bath and Chippenham) with adults of all ages and backgrounds. I also work with staff in primary and secondary education, and with people preparing for bereavement as a Volunteer Counsellor in the Family Support Team at Dorothy House Hospice Care. I am here to support people looking for a path to health and wellbeing.
