Underpinning my approach is the desire to help my clients see themselves more clearly. I want them to understand and accept themselves more readily as I believe this is the best route to change. I also see our ability to tolerate and regulate difficult emotions as an essential part of living a more fully expressed life.
I offer both long term and short-term therapy and usually recommend an initial free of charge consultation to determine your needs and whether I think I can help. I can offer online sessions or face-to-face meetings at my rooms in Kings Cross, London or near my home in Peterborough, Cambridgeshire.
I am a UKCP registered integrative psychotherapist which means I blend a wide range of different theories and approaches according to the needs of my clients. I describe myself as psychodynamic in my thinking, humanistic in my attitude and experiential in practice. I work with adults of all ages facing a wide variety of life problems, from work related stress to relationship issues. My specialist interest is in helping clients live more easily with anxiety, depression and the effects of post-traumatic stress. I hold a Masters Degree in Psychotherapy and Counselling and a Postgraduate Certificate in Psychotherapy from Regent’s University. Prior to my training as a psychotherapist, I worked for many years in the corporate world where I also work as an executive coach and facilitator.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
