A growing body of research into successful therapy has shown that a good relationship between client and therapist is the essential factor. This relationship is at the heart of Relational Transactional Analysis, the theoretical school in which I am trained. It is the relationship that forms the base from which clients can explore and confront difficult feelings and experiences, and gain the confidence that they will survive them.
At times, I will use the dynamics in our relationship to help you understand other relationships in your life, past and present. Some of our work together will focus on the here-and-now. At other times, we may explore how past experiences affect you today. You can expect the sessions to be client-led and collaborative; they may at times be challenging, but you are always in control of what you share.
As a psychotherapist and yoga teacher, I am interested in the relationship between our movements and physiology and our psychological state. This can become an explicit focus of the therapeutic work, for clients interested in exploring this intersection in their own lives.
My experience has taught me that each person’s therapeutic needs differ. I therefore work flexibly and creatively, tailoring my approach to what is needed from the work. I draw upon a variety of disciplines and therapeutic tools. I am particularly influenced by body psychotherapies, such as somatic experiencing and sensorimotor psychotherapy, as well as the person-centred tradition. This means we may pay attention to your physical experiences, as well as to your thoughts and feelings, and I that I will prioritise authenticity, non-judgement and empathy in our work.
I work with an awareness of the psychological and emotional impact of power dynamics and the structures of oppression in our society; I consider social, political and economic factors relevant to psychotherapeutic work. I seek to create an environment in which your intersecting identities can be explored and honoured. As such, my practice is trans and queer affirmative.
I am a qualified psychotherapist with over a decade of clinical experience, practising both privately and within the third sector. I hold a Clinical Diploma and MSc in Transactional Analysis Psychotherapy, a Post-Graduate Diploma in Transactional Analysis Psychotherapeutic Counselling, and a Foundation Certificate in Interpersonal and Counselling Skills. I trained at the Metanoia Institute, one of the leading clinical and academic institutions for psychotherapy in the UK. I am also a qualified yoga teacher (200hr BWY Accredited) and I utilise this understanding of physiology in my psychotherapeutic work.
I am a registered member of the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) and I abide by their ethical framework. I am therefore committed to my personal development as a practitioner: I attend regular clinical supervision and CPD to support my work. Areas of particular interest and specialism include trauma, couples work, group dynamics, and body-orientated psychotherapies.

For those interested in attending to their mental health via a primarily physical practice, I offer sessions based on therapeutic movement. For more information about this approach, please get in touch.
I work with individuals and couples, as well as running therapy groups. Sessions are weekly and can be in-person or online. Individual sessions are 50 minutes each. Sessions with couples are 1 hour.
