My approach to therapy is existential which is cognitive, practical and forward looking. I will listen and help you make sense of things, while providing support, encouragement, constructive challenge and new perspectives. This aims to help you understand yourself more clearly, evaluate your options and create a happier life. I work with individuals and my approach encompasses work issues and career development. Currently I see clients online via Zoom, Skype or other software depending on your preference. Whatever your concerns, compassionate and purposeful dialogue with a qualified professional can help you.
I have UKCP professional accreditation and a Master’s Degree (MA) in Existential Psychotherapy and Counselling. I also hold a certificate in Existential Supervision and Group Work. I run a private practice from home.
I work with adults of all ages, helping with a range of life crises and dilemmas including bereavement, depression, anxiety, stress, relationship difficulties, ‘mid life’ uncertainty, loss of direction or meaning, work issues, redundancy, career changes, ageing, dementia and end of life.
Prior to becoming a psychotherapist I worked in the business world in people management, programming, systems analysis and consultancy. As a professional in both business and psychotherapy I can provide a comprehensive service encompassing personal and work related counselling.
In 2020 I moved from Twickenham in the South East to the Wirral in the North West - an interesting and challenging existential experience being a confrontation with ageing, life stages, ‘home’ and belonging.
