As a humanistic therapist I believe that a positive therapeutic experience is based on the transformational potential of a safe, trusting, confidential and equal relationship between client and therapist. The therapeutic process can help boost self-esteem and confidence, supporting you – as a unique individual – to find an authentic way through life’s challenges and difficulties. Therapy can help facilitate connections between your thoughts and feelings, and bodily sensations, encouraging greater self-awareness. The counselling process may also enable you to recognise and develop new ways of thinking and feeling; fresh perspectives that promote personal growth, improved relationships and a sense of possibility and change.
I offer Gestalt Psychotherapy which encourages a new level of awareness and understanding of how experiences – past and present- are impacting you now. This exploration, within the context of a safe therapeutic relationship, can enable you to achieve understanding and growth. I also offer EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing).
