At times we all struggle to cope with our lives. By coming and talking to a professional therapist with experience and expertise about what you are going through, you can be helped to make sense of your problems and realise your expectations. You can bring whatever you want to talk about. You may feel that you want to get to hidden parts of yourself; it may be necessary to relate your past to the present and give it meaning; to express your feelings about your relationships, friends and family; to relate the different areas of your life; to have awareness and understanding of how you experience the world. Whatever you bring, you will be treated empathically, with care and respect, non-judgmentally and with utmost confidentially.
The initial session is an assessment when I ask you some questions which gives you the opportunity to talk about your concerns, for you to understand how I work and for you to see that you are comfortable and that we are best suited to work together. I will then offer you regular sessions which normally last 50 minutes weekly but with the emphasis on flexibility to suit your needs. We decide whether the therapy would be suited to short-term, long-term or open-ended therapy.
As well as sessions in person at my practice, I offer the flexibility of online therapy and telephone sessions to accommodate the needs of busy clients and today’s challenging environment.
I am a highly qualified Integrative Psychotherapist and Counsellor with a wide range of clinical and life experience. After a successful career in the City and running my own company, I trained at Regent’s University London and in the NHS at Guy's Hospital. I have over ten years experience working individually with clients and I now work in private practice with adults in Kensington and Chelsea. As an integrative therapist, I am able to draw on different ways of working that are specifically suited to my clients. I explore with them their thoughts and emotions, their problems and difficulties. My aim is to help them resolve these problems and difficulties with understanding and warmth, to help alleviate pain and distress and enable them to bring about change and move forward with their lives.
I am a Registered Accredited Member of the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP: 2011163719). I subscribe to their code of ethics, act in accordance with their code of practice and I am accountable to them for my performance as a psychotherapist. My private practice is insured with Zurich policy no: ZUR-UKCP 19/01/178. I am registered with many of the leading healthcare providers enabling clients with private insurance to claim back the fees for therapy.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
