Psychoanalytically informed Psychotherapy
I am a Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist and see people with a wide range of difficulties. Psychoanalytically applied therapy is an opportunity to explore the conscious and unconscious reasons behind a particular difficulty that someone may present with. Whether it be something symptomatic such as depression or anxiety or relationship difficulties, motivation or workplace stresses. This type of Therapy allows the opportunity within a safe setting to explore the underlying conflicts that perpetuate the conscious problem. It offers a way to understand and address problems through an encounter with both conscious and unconscious processes within the therapeutic relationship. The process helps develop an awareness of how the inner world shapes and finds expression in the everyday outside world, which helps understand the assumptions and behaviour that hides behind the conscious problems. It helps enrich someone's emotional life offering the possibility for greater fulfilment in relationships and living one's life to the best that they can.
