I specialize in trauma, sexual abuse, addictions, depression, mental health and anxiety. I am a integrative Psychotherapist and may use my knowledge of Transactional Analysis, Gestalt and psychoanalytical theory during therapy. Although, my bedrock of relating to my clients stems from the Person-Centred philosophy.
My aim in therapy with you is to understand your world by stepping into it and exploring it together, by doing so I will help you make meaning of your experiences, feelings and emotions with the aim of overcoming the difficulties that you are experiencing. I don't shy away from sitting (metaphorically) next to my clients in the dark, frightening and uncomfortable places of their history.
I qualified as a psychotherapist in 2008 after being a counsellor for five years. I hold a MA in Integrative Humanistic psychotherapy. Most of my professional career has been working with young people and families in the public and private sector, with the aim of changing unhelpful thoughts/dynamics for the betterment of individuals and their families. Currently, I am a Clinical Lead working in the NHS with complex adult cases.
I have been a consultant psychotherapist for the NHS in Northamptonshire for many years; working with adults with significant personality difficulties and addictions.
