My Approach

I work collaboratively with you to use the therapeutic space to explore your past, your present and how to get the most from the future. I believe that the support of regular therapy can help break cycles which have become stuck, and the relational element that we have can help repair past ruptures. I work integratively and relationally - I dip into psychodynamic. existential and person-centred modalities and I do sometimes work in a more structured, cognitive way. I am quite a creative person and I will sometimes use visualisations and metaphor with you. I am happy to hear about how you feel you would like to work as well and set goals for our work together.

About Me

I am an experienced integrative psychotherapist, also bringing my life experience as a mother, my background in the arts (classical music, BBC production and freelance journalism) and my understanding and support of the financial and business sector to my work. I have supported clients through bereavement, relationship and marital issues, work anxiety, trauma, neurodiversity and illness diagnoses. I wanted to become a psychotherapist because I believe that no one is completely unscathed in life, but finding the right support and having the opportunity to engage in some regular therapy can really make a difference to our recovery from difficult times, and can help change the way we face challenges in the future. I offer a non-judgemental space. You are the expert on your life, but I will be there with you to examine it, to make suggestions and ask questions and together we can hopefully find what you need.

Special Interests

Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.

Anxiety can take many forms and can often be exacerbated by traumatic events and can in turn lead to depression. I work with anxiety in a holistic way, using some CBT and somatic work as well as our talking therapy.
I support clients with all sorts of bereavement, especially when it has been unexpected or traumatic. Bereavement comes into all sorts of areas including the loss of a relationship. When working with clients facing terminal illness or supporting partners or family members, the grief starts from the moment of diagnoses and it is so important to help support this.
The impact of divorce on you and potentially on family members can leave you spinning. I have a special interest in providing consistent support to people going through, considering, or coming out the other side of a divorce.
My own family experience of illness and supporting those with illness leaves me wanting to provide compassionate space to reflect and process health-related issues.
I work with individuals around all sorts of relationship difficulties. Therapy can provide the confidential space to explore options in a non-judgemental way, and to give the time to reflect on these. It can help to externalise the emotions and feelings around a relationship, as you take the time to explore what might be coming up which is feeling repetitive, negative or stuck.
