I am an integrative psychotherapist, integrating psychodynamic, humanistic, relational and CBT approaches

About Me

I seek to enable my clients to understand their current difficulties in a confidential, safe and non judgemental space, to look at how their difficulties have come about, to make sense of them and to find a realistic and lasting way forward towards integration and balance within themselves. Special Interests

Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.

Anxiety is something most of us are touched by at some point. Sometimes anxiety can become dominating and really get in the way of various aspects of your life/relationships/work. Therapy can be a very useful way to explore what is driving your anxiety, how your thinking and feeling might be exacerbating your anxiety and hopefully to find ways towards reducing and managing your anxiety so that life can feel more enjoyable and less difficult going forwards.
Families are something we all have to navigate. Often families can be complicated and our family relationships/dynamics can have lasting effects on us and our subsequent relationships with both friends and partners. It can be very useful to explore this area to increase understanding and acceptance and hopefully improved relationships going forward.
I have a lot of experience of working with family members/carers/friends of people with serious mental illness and personality difficulties. Serious mental illness can bring some very particular challenges so it can be very helpful to discuss and think about things like boundaries, ways to communicate and the intense feelings that can be generated in ourselves around people who experience a different sense of reality to our own.
Whether it be difficulties with family relationships, intimate relationships, friendships or work relationships, it is always useful to explore these areas of your life with a therapist who can offer an objective viewpoint and help you to make links, connections and better sense of the relationships in your life.
Stress is part of life and something that we all have to deal with. It can come from so many areas and be driven by so many factors. Therapy offers a space to really unpack all the things that are contributing to stress in your life. It might be other people, your relationship with yourself/family/friends, issues around neurodiversity, issues around substance use, work......all sorts of things. By having a really good look at the major stresses in your life you may find you are able to significantly decrease the levels of stress in your life and significantly improve the quality of you life.
