My approach is grounded in psychodynamic practice, which means that together, we reflect on your past experiences to help better understand your responses to the present. Counselling can help you look at ways of making choices for yourself, explore difficult relationships and gain a better understanding of yourself and others. This increased self-awareness can help you to cope and come to terms with conflict, or painful life experiences and losses, accepting and dealing with your emotions in a more constructive way.
Hello,
I’m Claire, an experienced and accredited psychotherapeutic counsellor offering remote and in-person counselling in Cumnor, Oxfordshire. I provide a warm and friendly counselling service to adults and young people of secondary school age.
My qualifications to practice include an MST (Distinction) in Psychodynamic Practice from the University of Oxford. I also hold an MSc (Distinction) in Social Psychology and Social Research Methods from the LSE and a BSC (2:1 Hons) in Psychology from the University of Bath. I have been counselling since 2017 following a successful twenty year career in social and market research as a Research Director, still providing research consultancy advice and support when required.
If you are potentially interested in having some counselling sessions, then please contact me by email to arrange a mutually convenient time for an introductory 20-minute consultation call.
Best wishes,
Claire
