My approach is humanistic and integrative and I have a relational, creative, improvisatory style. Among the traditions that inform my work are Gestalt, Person Centred, Existential, Psychodynamic and Attachment based perspectives which I draw on according to the individual situations my clients bring. My understanding is that a persons' accumulated life experience from childhood onwards, contributes to how they manage their lives and relationships in the present. My aim is to develop with my clients, a deep relationship which supports openness and trust, within which we can work together in gaining insight, and developing, ways of living and relating that enhance everyday life.
Among the people I have studied with are Gaie Houston (supervision), Ruella Franks' (Developmental Somatic Psychotherapy) and Judith Hemmings (Couples and Constellations). I have a special interest in and knowledge of stepfamily situations, and in Gestalt, which provides a basic perspective and guide for my work in a variety of areas.
I am an experienced psychotherapist and have been working since 1991 in North West London with individuals, couples and groups as a gestalt based integrative psychotherapist. I run a monthly group on Saturdays for a full day, a fortnightly group co-facilitated with Angelika Wienrich.
I also offer supervision to individuals and groups. Further expertise is with people in stepfamily situations and I put on workshops and events with a focus on family situations. In these I use creative methods to explore dynamics and relationships. My overall style is exploratory and creative with an emphases on relationship.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
