My Approach

I like to offer a safe, calm and supportive space to people who are facing difficulty in their lives. Do you have a sense of feeling confused, stuck or disappointed in relationships? Perhaps you want to talk about a disturbing loss or new circumstances. You might be facing change as you take on an unfamiliar role or pursue a new goal. Some people come to see me suffering from a lack of meaning or enjoyment in their lives.

We can discuss what you’re going through, begin to make sense of things, and find a way forward in your life. Some emotional difficulties and challenging situations are too much for one person to cope with by themselves. However, the two of us working together can help you manage how you feel, think creatively and consider the different choices you could make. Our time together is confidential, and you can take things at your own pace.

My practice is based in South London, SW2. I offer weekly or twice-weekly sessions. My fee is £75 for each 50-minute session. Some people choose to attend on an open-ended basis, others use sessions until a particular issue has been resolved. You’re welcome to contact me by phone or e-mail with any questions you have.

I’m a registered provider with all the main private medical insurers. If your policy covers psychotherapy sessions, I’d be happy to discuss the referral process when we first speak and, if you’d prefer, also contact your insurer to confirm the details of your referral. I have a clear Enhanced Criminal Record Check from The Disclosure and Barring Service.

About Me

I offer a wide range of psychotherapy and personal development work, dealing with various issues including anxiety, depression and loss. My particular interest is in issues around identity, life transitions and workplace issues.

In therapy, I’d like you to have the opportunity to discuss what you may not feel able to share elsewhere. So often, I’ve seen how once people have a safe, confidential, supportive space to put their experience into words, they’re more able to manage how they feel. They become more emotionally resilient and find new options in relation to old behaviours. This frees them to take more meaning and enjoyment in their relationships. Many difficulties represent a struggle with issues and conflicts from the past. Self-awareness offers the opportunity to move away from the resulting patterns and repetitions.

As well as dealing with the past, we can give attention to your current situation and how you wish to pursue your life. The increasing pace and complexity of modern life can, by itself, cause emotional difficulties. We’re extremely varied in what we desire, what troubles us, and what makes us happier. I feel that each therapy has to reflect the unique needs of each person. In times of change or crisis, some feelings and thoughts are too much for one mind – but two people working together can make progress. I've worked with people from all walks of life, and I'm sensitive to the wide variety of values, lifestyles and identities that people pursue in contemporary society.

In my current practice, I offer weekly or twice-weekly sessions. Some people attend on an open-ended basis, others use sessions until a particular issue has been resolved.

I have a particular interest in workplace problems and organisational issues. I have experience as both a manager and a trainer. I offer executive coaching and employee support, helping people to address the many pressures they face in the modern workplace. I originally trained to be a solicitor and my workplace issues expertise is informed by my legal experience in the commercial sector, which has included work in a city law firm and a large plc.

Special Interests

Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.

I enjoy helping people develop their performance in their professional lives. I also support people experiencing workplace crises and burnout. This involves working with emotional blocks that limit confidence, creativity and engagement with colleagues. We can also explore how your personal strengths, desires and values can enrich your experience of work. I’ve worked with members of the professions, as well as managers and leaders through to board level. I’ve also worked with entrepreneurs in tech, marketing, research, advertising, PR, media and recruitment, including consultancy during start-ups. I am a director and co-founder of Respia – www.respia.io - a management consultancy providing one-to-one executive coaching and facilitated peer-groups for business founders and decision makers.
