I use a combination of appreciative inquiry, narrative and systemic approaches. I understand people are influenced by their relationship with context and culture: the problem may not be with the individual but with their life circumstances. This will effect their sense of identity, interrupt relationship and upset their emotional wellbeing. My focus is on both the individual and their relationship with their world. I help the client to explore their experiences and narratives. This is to enable generation of new meanings and possibilities.
I am a Family and Systemic Psychotherapist and Supervisor. I have forty experiences in the field of mental health; working with children, adolescents, adults in community and inpatient settings. My areas of special interest includes eating disorders and cultural practice, couple relationships, parenting and family issues. Bereavement, Anxiety & Depression, ADHD & neurodiversity, mental health issues. I also facilitate groups and offer supervision to other qualified practitioners.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
